What we collect

Isaac Codex is an unofficial companion app and website for The Binding of Isaac. We collect as little as the product needs:

• Waitlist. Your email address, the language you signed up in and where the form was (for example the landing page). We also store a salted hash of your IP address for one hour’s worth of rate limiting; it cannot be turned back into the address.
• Analytics. Anonymous usage events on the website and in the app (page views, which features are used, whether a purchase succeeded), processed by PostHog in the United States. We do not record what you type, your email, or content you read. The website honours the Do Not Track setting; the app has an opt-out switch in Settings.
• Account. If you sign in, the identifier your sign-in provider gives us, a display name you choose, your language, your unlock progress, quiz sessions, leaderboard results, and any comments or corrections you submit.
• Purchases. Subscriptions and one-time purchases are handled by Apple, Google and RevenueCat. We never see card numbers. RevenueCat tells us which entitlement is active and until when, and we store that record against your account.

How we use it

To email you once when the beta opens, to run the app (sync progress, score quizzes, show leaderboards, unlock Pro), to fix bugs and to understand which features matter. We do not sell data and we do not show ads.

Where it lives

Accounts and app data: Supabase (US West). Website hosting and email forwarding: Cloudflare. Analytics: PostHog (US). Purchases: RevenueCat, Apple, Google.

How long

Waitlist entries are deleted within twelve months of launch or as soon as you ask. Account data stays while your account exists; deleting the account deletes it. Analytics events are kept in aggregate.

Your choices

Email [email protected] to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to leave the waitlist. Analytics can be turned off in the app’s Settings; on the website, enable Do Not Track in your browser.

Children

The app and website are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will post any change here with a new effective date. Material changes are announced in the app.
